Era uma vez uma floresta…
Once upon a time, an Amazon rainforest…

I wanted to create work on deforestation in the Amazon Rainforest. It’s an ecosystem where everything is connected. We cannot separate the forest from the living beings that inhabit it. This is a work created over a decade and which has resulted in a unique series devoted to the Amazon, its forest, its river and its Indians.
Today, the forest continues to be destroyed, even more so than yesterday. The world is just realizing the gravity of the situation and the impact its disappearance can have on our lives, here and around the planet. It is necessary to act and I am doing it in the way I know best, that of my paint and brushes.

Je voulais créer un travail sur la déforestation dans la forêt amazonienne. C’est un écosystème où tout est connecté. Nous ne pouvons pas séparer la forêt des êtres vivants qui la peuplent. Il s’agit d’une œuvre créée sur une décennie et qui a abouti à une série unique consacrée à l’Amazonie, sa forêt, son fleuve et ses Indiens.
Aujourd’hui, la forêt continue d’être détruite, plus encore qu’hier. Le monde est en train de réaliser la gravité de la situation et l’impact que sa disparition peut avoir sur nos vies, ici et autour de la planète. Il faut agir et je le fais de la manière que je connais le mieux, celle de ma peinture et de mes pinceaux.
